Bboy cake

Today is my hunnies 22nd birthday,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY baby, I LOVE YOU

Since its my huns birthday I just had to make him a cake, but not just any cake ...but a strawberry cake but not just a strawberry cake... But with chocolate frosting, and not just a strawberry cake with chocolate frosting but a BBOY cake!!!

My lover is a bboy and loves to bboy when and where ever he can, so the perfect cake for him would be a bboy cake.

I made fondant bboy plaques and one with "bboy dizco" on it, which is his bboy name.

I also added come colorful borders to give it more of the color in graffiti, and this is my finished cake

Milwaukee Brewers

Even though my moms birthday was on the 7th we had another celebration with the family which means another CAKE!!!!!

Since my mom love the Milwaukee Brewers I thought it would be a great idea to make her a Brewer cake :)

First I baked a red velvet cake in Wilton's sports ball pan which is a 6" sphere. When it was done baking and cooling I sliced each of the halves in to three layers so I could add a cream cheese frosting filling inside of my cake, and then crumb coated my two sphere halves.

Then I took those same pans and lightly sprayed the pan with cooing spray and then melted some white chocolate so I could make a sphere chocolate mold using them.
I made one layer of white chocolate in those pans put it in the fridge to set up....then about 15 minutes later I added another coat of chocolate to give it a thicker shell, and placed the molds back in the fridge to set again. Then about a hour later I took the molds out of the fridge turned them upside down tapped them on the table a few times and the molds just popped out.

When my molds were done I gently placed them on top of my two sphere cakes to give them a rich white chocolate shell (instead of using fondant to cover my cakes)

AND TIME FOR THE DETAILS :D
(About a week before I started this cake I had made a fondant Brewer Logo and the brim of a hat)

I first started on one half of my sphere which was going to be a baseball...since my white chocolate didn't cover my whole cake (the cake was showing at the bottom) because I had sliced it and filled it, I decided to pipe some green grass around the ball and then added the red stitching around the ball.

Then I took my other half of the sphere and made it into a Brewers hat. Once again my chocolate didn't reach the bottom because I had cut it and filled it I decided to add a blue border around the bottom. Then I took the fondant brim that I had made a week ago and the logo and added to that half of cake I also made some stitching in-grooved in the hat and added some blue dots to give the hat a more "hat" look....

AND THIS IS MY FINAL CAKE :)

AND THE BIRTHDAY GIRL, MY MOMMY :)

Happy Birthday Mommy, I love you

Happy Birthday Mommy

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My moms birthday was on the 7th, and what better thing to wake up to than your own cake.

I baked my mom for her birthday a 6" devils food cake, filled and frosted with buttercream.
I colored the buttercream lavender because that is her favorite color, well purple is but that is close enough :)

I also had made some fondant roses and flowers, I had made those about a week ahead of time so they could dry and harden so they could take their shape.

I had frosted the cake in lavender made big swirl borders, and placed the fondant flowers on the cake, and this is what the outcome was :)

Ohh....I also had written mom on the top of the cake since it was for her♥

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY
I LOVE YOU

McDonald Cookies

Yesterday I had a party at work and what better cookies to make the Ronald McDonald himself.

At first I didn't think I would be able to accomplish making these cookies because I am new to cookie decorating but they turned out pretty well.

I made eight Ronald McDonald sugar cookies...

I first outline Ronald's hair, then let that dry.
Then I outlines his face and filled it, and then let that dry.
Lastly I added his eye brows, eyes, and mouth.

I also made eight McDonald's Golden Arch sugar cookies....

I had took the cookie and outline the rim of the cookie in red and filled it, then let that dry.
Then took my yellow and made the golden arch, then dotted the rim of the red that I filled.

Along with my McDonald sugar cookies I decided to add some chocolate chip cookies to my plate.

Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes

Halloween is conning up very soon and one of my favorite things to do around this season is pumpkin picking :)

Even though I've only went to a actually pumpkin patch just a few times I just love taking a hay ride up the hill and soon arrive to millions of pumpkins. Halloween is my favorite time of the year and pumpkin picking inspired me to make these pumpkin patch cupcakes.

I first baked some devil food cupcakes then took Wilton tip number 12 and made a orange buttercream swirl

Then I used Wilton's tip number 352 to make the stems on the pumpkin

And when I lined the all up I creates my own cupcake pumpkin patch :)

Halloween Cupcakes for Polio

Last year a friend and I baked cupcakes for a Monster Mash event at our local elementary school.
We  had baked vanilla cupcakes frosted and decorated in vanilla butter cream. We had added some food coloring to give the butter cream some color to get more in the Halloween spirit.

All of the decorations were made from butter cream and candy M&M's

All of these cupcakes were sold for $1 to help raise money for Polio.

I hope this year I will be able to make some great treats for a great cause again.

Mickey Mouse Cookies

I kinda have this new thing for Mickey Mouse and I seen these adorable cookie cutters and I had to get them....

These cookie cutters were just the greatest things ever and they were by Wilton :)

Well from my previous posts you all know that I am starting to get into the cookie decorating so I had baked me up a batch of sugar cookies and used the cutters.
And this is what I came up with...

They didnt turn out too bad, its just my royal icing was at a more thicker consistency and it didnt give it a smooth finish (but im still new to this, so im not that mad)

So, if you have any tips for me on how to make my royal icing better, or would like to suggest a recipe just leave a comment and let me know :)

Red Velvet Cake

So this was the fist time I made a red velvet cake... it didnt turn out too well on the inside but the buttercream decorating turned out great.

Here is what I did

This technique is very pretty but it has a lot of buttercream on it, a little too much for a slice of cake.

but back to the inside of the cake...The inside turned out horibble and it all caved in for some reason so there was a great big giant hole in the middle of the cake when I cut it.

Maybe I shouldnt of did just one big giant layer of cake, maybe I should of tried two layers then stack them on top of each other, or maybe a different recipie???

Does anyone have a great red velvet recipie they would like to share with me for next time I make a cake??

Coach Purse Cake

My grandma love purses, and everytime I see her she has a new COACH purse. So, for her 65th birthday what would be better than to make her a coach purse cake!!

I baked two 9 X 9 square inch devils food cake and cut them in half. Then I took one half that I cut, laied it on the cake board and filled it with buttercream. Then took another half stacked that ontop of the one I just filled and filled that one.....and soo on until I got four stacked an filled cakes.

Then I crumb coated the stacked cakes and put it in the freezer to set up.

After the cake was set (freezed for about a day) then I rolled my fondant and covered my cake.

I added fondant "C"s for the coach symbol, and handle and a trim around the cake.

I also added a bow to give it some "prettyness" and a customized coach tag that said, "Happy Birthday Grandma."

ohh yea :) I also made some devils food cupcakes frosted with a buttercream flower (tip wilton #12)

Graduation, class of 2012

Here is another high school graduation cake that I did. This is a marble sheet cake (11 X17) frosted and filled with buttercream. The school colors are blue and white...so thats the colors that I did on the cake :)

The bottom border is a shell border, then I piped dots inbetween the border. The top border is first piped with a blue ruffle using the rose tip, and on top of that border I piped a reverse shell border. Then piped "congratulations jenny."

Since it is a graduation cake I had to add a few more touches....

I had added a graduation cap, and a diploma with the year that she graduated high school (2012.) She had told me that she wanted some 3D flowers on her cake, so I added some blue roses, and some smaller flowers and came out with this beautiful cake.

CONGRATS 2012 Graduates!!
